Windows 10 Encryption and Wiping Ready to Go from Jetico

6 Aug 2015

HELSINKI, Finland – August 06, 2015 – The highly anticipated arrival of the Microsoft Windows® 10 operating system last week came with additional good news for Jetico's customers. BestCrypt and BCWipe are among the first to deliver Windows 10 encryption and wiping.

Users of BCWipe, a utility that permanently deletes files and wipes free space, and BestCrypt Container Encryption, which encrypts files and folders, have been able to upgrade to Windows® 10 worry-free since the operating system's public release on July 29. And as of today, BestCrypt Volume Encryption, Jetico's disk encryption solution, has passed testing on the public release. Users may now follow suit with new best practices for data migration to Windows® 10.

These best practices mark the successful conclusion of Jetico's effort to make their data encryption and data wiping software products fully compatible with Windows® 10, an effort that has been nearly a year in the making. To Michael Waksman, Jetico's CEO, these achievements reflect the company's longstanding commitment to providing their customers with the most up-to-date technology possible. "We're proud to say that BCWipe and BestCrypt have been supporting Windows 10 for almost a year, way ahead of the competition," Waksman stated in his announcement.

Jetico began its efforts to support Windows® 10 in late 2014, when Microsoft released the Windows® 10 Technical Preview for software developers. Waksman and his team saw the importance of getting to work right away. "As any developer out there will tell you, every new operating system release comes with plenty of hurdles and headaches, especially major releases like Windows 10," Waksman explains. "But when your users rely on you to keep their sensitive data protected yet accessible," he continued, "that's a sacred trust they're placing in you. There's no time to waste."

At Jetico, Waksman says, he and his developers view it as an "ethical responsibility" to keep their products "fully and seamlessly compatible" with the various emerging technologies used by their customers, as well as older systems. In addition to a wide global base of home and small business users, Jetico also serves various enterprises whose daily operations involve processing huge amounts of sensitive data.
