Helsinki, FINLAND - May 26, 2011 – Military-standard data protection software developer, Jetico has released enhanced utilities that ensure enterprise-wide control to encrypt data or permanently delete files. Now any organization can strengthen their data security, with the Jetico Central Manager tool included as a component in newly released Enterprise Editions of BestCrypt and BCWipe software.
Announcing the upgrades for BCWipe and BestCrypt, Panu Pietikainen, Chief Operating Officer of Jetico, says, "With the launch of these new Enterprise Editions, Jetico has added true robustness to our products by addressing the needs of all security-conscious organizations – large or small."
"Our enterprise customers wanted a central command center that could remotely deploy and manage client software on any computer or group of computers," says Mr. Pietikainen. "We believe the new Jetico Enterprise Editions deliver what the customer has asked for."
Jetico’s DoD-approved BCWipe software is designed to completely and permanently delete files from computers, including the ability to wipe free space. BCWipe has been the utility of choice to wipe data for the U.S. Defense Community for over 10 years and is widely accepted as the de-facto standard to clean up classified data spills.
BestCrypt encryption software goes hand in hand with BCWipe, protecting organizations from data leakage and theft. Jetico offers two varieties of BestCrypt to protect data that is still in use. For file encryption, BestCrypt Container Encryption disguises data by storing selected files and folders in encrypted container files. BestCrypt Volume Encryption provides a more flexible alternative to full disk encryption by protecting all data stored on entire disk partitions or volumes. For example, organizations can encrypt RAID arrays using BestCrypt Volume Encryption.
"Jetico’s new enterprise software significantly boosts security while reducing total cost of ownership," says Mr. Pietikainen. "Now that we’ve added Jetico Central Manager, our enterprise customers can appreciate reduced deployment time, minimized maintenance and better prevention against embarrassing, costly data leaks."
Elaborating on its role, Mr. Pietikainen adds, "Central management of a corporate network immediately results in greater reliability and security, which is far superior to allowing a large organization of computers to independently run data protection software on their own."
