This chapter provides an overview of all search filters available in Jetico Central Manager's Search. Each article in this section describes a specific category of filters and explains how they can be used to locate sensitive, regulated, or business-critical data across managed endpoints.

Search Filters Overview

JCM Search offers two main ways to define what you want to find.Select the option that best matches your task:

      • Simple use cases, e.g. locating exact matches for a specific word or a set of keywords.

      • More advanced use cases, e.g. finding any data that may fall under a compliance category, such as personally identifiable information (PII).

      • AI-based classification β€” recognizing specific types of files based on a sample document set you provide.

    • Search Filters by File Attributes

This article provides a detailed description of all filters that help you find files based on their properties rather than their content. These filters include:

      • Location-based criteria β€” such as file path, specific folders, or recursive folder structures.

      • Metadata filters β€” including file size, file type, and creation or modification dates.

      • File identity filters β€” such as exact hash matching or finding files similar to a sample document.

πŸ—²PRO TIP: For every filter you are adding, you can choose whether AND or OR logic is applied:

 - AND finds only the files that meet all selected conditions.

 - OR finds files that meet any of the selected conditions.

If your work requires locating complex, abstract, or compliance-related information, continue with the following articles. These sections provide a deeper look into the most advanced filters available in Search:

Once you have reviewed all articles in this chapter and gained a clear understanding of which types of information can be found and how to work with the available filters, you are ready to move on to the next section. The Search Results chapter explains how results are presented, what information is included, and how you can work with the findings: from reviewing and exporting to backing up or securely erasing data.
