Search extends Jetico Central Manager with centralized data discovery across managed client computers.

It helps administrators locate sensitive, regulated, outdated, or business-critical data stored across the managed environment and take follow-up actions such as review, export, reporting, encrypted backup, or secure erasure.

  1. Centralized data discovery
Search for files and sensitive information across individual computers or groups of managed computers from the JCM Console.

  2. Search by file attributes
Find files based on properties such as file name, file path, file type, size, date range, hash value, or similarity to a sample file.

  3. Search by content and information type
Locate data using keywords, dictionaries, regular expressions, Templates, Presets, and AI Categories.

  4. Discovery beyond simple keyword matching
Search for categories of information, such as personal identifiers, payment card data, financial records, or other sensitive data types, even when exact file names or values are unknown.

  5. Support for multiple file formats
Search inside common business file formats, including text files, PDF, DOC, XLS, CSV, compressed files, and supported scanned or photographed document content.

  6. Fast local indexing on client computers
Client computers index data locally in the background and store the index in an encrypted local database. This enables faster search performance without repeatedly scanning all files from scratch.

  7. Search targeting by computer or group
Run searches on selected computers or entire groups to focus discovery tasks on specific departments, device types, or risk areas.

  8. Centralized results review
Review search results in the JCM Console, including where matching files were found and which computers contain them.

  9. Reports and export
Generate search reports or export results in formats such as CSV or JSON for audit, review, remediation tracking, or use with third-party tools.

  10. Secure deletion of found data
Use BCWipe integration to securely erase selected search results when data must be removed.

  11. Encrypted backup before secure deletion
Create an encrypted local backup before erasing selected files when a protected copy must be retained before removal.

  12. Search history and repeated investigations
Review previous searches, search results, and related actions to support follow-up investigations, repeated discovery tasks, and documentation of data handling activity.

  13. AI-powered discovery
Use predefined AI Categories or train custom categories with sample files to identify complex information types that cannot be reliably found with keywords or regular expressions alone.
