HELSINKI, Finland – September 6, 2016 – Jetico, leading-edge developer of DoD wipe software, announced today that their BCWipe Total WipeOut has passed the ADISA Claims Test Process.

Jetico’s solution to wipe hard drive data has been validated by ADISA by erasing beyond forensic recovery information stored on a sample of traditional hard disks, as well as solid state drives (SSD) which have a unique architecture presenting some challenges to data erasure.

"Jetico is deeply proud to have passed this test," says Jetico Founder and Chairman, Tommi Rasila, welcoming the news after coordinating the process for Jetico. "This respected independent confirmation further validates BCWipe Total WipeOut as a trustworthy and high-functioning solution for ITAD and e-waste centers."

"We are delighted to have worked with Jetico on this test and our test labs were able to validate the claims made without question on the sample of traditional hard disks and also solid state," explains ADISA CEO, Steve Mellings. "For businesses today the requirement to protect data is paramount with the implications of data breach being highly significant. ADISA certification for service providers and ADISA claims test validation for software vendors helps bridge the gap between blind trust and confidence in using the right partners and products."

The forensic tests carried out by Professor Andrew Blyth, Head of Information Security at the University of South Wales, validate the ability of BCWipe Total WipeOut to overwrite user data (LBA-0 to LBA-MAX), Device Configuration Overlay (DCO) and Host Protected Area (HPA) to protect from forensic attack equivalent to Test Level 1 of the ADISA Threat Matrix.

ADISA tests also verified BCWipe Total WipeOut for secure erase of SSD. During the certification process, Jetico’s wiping software successfully erased beyond forensic recovery all data stored on the following solid state drives:

  • Crucial BX200 2.5 Inch SSD 240GB
  • Kingston 240GB SSDNOW 300
  • Samsung SSD850 EVO (mSATA) – 120GB

"ADISA’s successful test of BCWipe Total WipeOut on SSD is a great proof of our efforts," concludes Jetico CEO, Michael Waksman. "Right now, delivering wiping solutions to work effectively on SSD is one of the most urgent challenges of any data erasure company. As SSDs evolve and grow, Jetico is committed to testing and participating with industry groups like ADISA, as well as the Solid State Storage Initiative in SNIA, the Storage Networking Industry Association."
